Thanks for the strategy, thought it might use it for brawl or a sneak attack to win the race on Mario Kart Wii for a suprise to win the race perfectly well for the plan if you want to win with cool action.

Re: A Sniper's guide (To doing it right) - 11-06-08

I forgot to add something about finding cover: Often the best place to hide, is behind enemy lines, preferably at the very back of the map. When you have your back to a level boundary, it's just one less side you have to worry about. In big maps that are often sniper vs. sniper duels, swap sides; meaning you go on your enemies typical side and hiding spots and snipe down their line.

Hehe every match I play I come up with 3rd, 2nd or most kills =D

oh that used to happen to me a lot so i just stopped holding my breath altogether and waited till they started peeking out (either that or try to wall him haha). or when i ran out of breath i just took cover.

Quick sniper in any socom game.

Come see me. :] I use it like a regular gun, walk around once I see someone, quick scope = you laying on the ground dead.

Just don't get in front me.

Re: A Sniper's guide (To doing it right) - 11-06-08

I still can't imagine sniping with a gamepad >_>.
Anyway, my sniping technique breaks pretty much every rule in the first post. I run around with my sidearm/sniper out (I rush more than the guys with autos and shotguns), jump out in the open and hop around whilst sniping.

Anyway, my favourite sniping class on COD4 is:
M40 (ACOG if you want, it zooms in quicker than the normal scope but has much less range)
Deagle
Triple stun or flash nades
Stopping Power (UAV Jammer if you're on Hardcore the whole time)
Deep Impact (I'm never scoped long enough to breath anyway, and Promod takes out the sway/breathing so it's pretty pointless unless you plan on camping the whole game).

I'm really against campy snipers. It's far too easy to snipe someone when you're not moving and your target isn't concentrating on you. It's funny when I go all Quake style on these guys and they call me a hacker for sniping them in midair
