Re: PSP and DS - 12-08-08

Personally, I used to own both consoles, but eventually sided with the Nintendo DS, and eventually the majority of my friends followed suite.
Put simply, I prefer the simplicity of the DS, and I love the idea of the touch-screen, which makes certain games a lot more interesting and unique.

I must admit, that in my opinion, Nintendo have out-done Sony. Sony continues to release things, but I think that they're either copies (eg. PSP after the DS) or just "better" versions of the existing model (eg. PS3 precedes PS2).

In addition to this, there are also more DS exclusive games. I know Sony have Playstation exclusive games, but they're not PSP exclusive if you get where I'm coming from?

Anyhow, despite the fact that I am a die-hard Nintendo fan, I can say that I have tried both before coming to the decision that the DS overrules the PSP anyday.

Agree, though I do love my PSP.

It was losing competition with the DS.
One year had gone from the DS release and Nintendo released a new DS model, The DS lite. A brighter and lighter version of the DS. The console and games sold for the same price as a regular DS. This sold 65.51 million units worldwide. One year after the PSP's release, Sony also released the PSP 200 series, the slim and light! They copied Nintendo's idea. The sales were not very successful worldwide.
One year after the PSP 2000's, Sony released a new PSP, the PSP 3000. This wasn't very successful at sales and each PSP is £140! The DSi was released after a while by Nintendo. This sold 535,379 units worldwide.
In conclusion, Nintendo's DS has been more successful than Sony's PSP.
NOTE: With the poll, don't be biased.
well done you put the statistics in an easy to read format so its not just a load of numbers

Re: PSP and DS - 12-08-08

both suck. iPhones for the win! jk. (hate apple)

i like both. they have games the other doesnt. sony has my favorite monster fighting game Monster Hunter (handheld wise) and Nintendo has chrono. only games i really play on the both of them. the DS sucks in terms of damage abuse where the PSP can take some blows. i hit screens and 2 out of 4 DS (of mine) broke. my PSP has been headbutted and even knee'd and the screen is still fine. i like the DS's touch screen but hate the L&R buttons. they wear to easy for me. the PSP's dont wear that much

1. IF you knew how many times I've dropped my DS you'd wouldn't call it weak. But I agree with you on the shoulder buttons thing.
2. How'd you let your consoles get "headbutted" or "kneed"?
3. Why were you hitting your screens? (its no wonder they broke)

Re: PSP and DS - 12-08-08

Well, I love ds. The Psp is great too, and they each have their pros and cons. What I do t see is why didn't Nintendo spiff up the graphics a smudge on the dsi? I would have sprung for one then

Oh and allegretto--- or whatever your name is. Funnyyou make fun of the iPhone, cause I hardly bring my ds with me anymore ( which used to be attached to me). My iPhone rocks ass. The games and apps rock ass--- and you just sound bitter cause you don't have one.

if they did the graphics they would have to increase the size of it. the better the graphics the bigger the system/handheld.

Imma go make the same exact thread on a PS forum. Logically they should be less biased. Right?

BTW I'm not voting as I only own one and cannot judge.

And the higher the retail price (and the DS is expensive as it is)
