The First
DS(The original one) had very good sales, selling 84.33 million units worldwide! The console sold for £100. Games were reasonably cheap. £30 for a new game. A few months after, Sony released the PSP selling for £270 a console. A memory stick duo or pro duo needed to be purchased in order to sell games. 41 million units were sold worldwide. It was losing competition with the
DS.
One year had gone from the
DS release and Nintendo released a new
DS model, The
DS lite. A brighter and lighter version of the
DS. The console and games sold for the same price as a regular
DS. This sold 65.51 million units worldwide. One year after the PSP's release, Sony also released the PSP 200 series, the slim and light! They copied Nintendo's idea. The sales were not very successful worldwide.
One year after the PSP 2000's, Sony released a new PSP, the PSP 3000. This wasn't very successful at sales and each PSP is £140! The DSi was released after a while by Nintendo. This sold 535,379 units worldwide.
In conclusion, Nintendo's
DS has been more successful than Sony's PSP.
