You were Ashlee's Brawl partner for a little while right? I may be thinking of someone else, but hey listen I'm totally with you on this one man. I'm pouring everything from Brawl into Street Fighter IV. It'll serve as my main fighting game for some time to come. There's a lot to Street Fighter to make the game strategic, and it'll take a while to discover, but all in due time.
You looking at the PS3 or 360 version?

I really want it, but I just can't afford to buy so many games, and KZ2 is top priority.
I'll have to wait till a price drop. D:

Street Fighter II Turbo is the considered the best SF game in existence.
Technically Street Fighter II, but Turbo gives you 4 more characters I believe.

Major Street Fighter fan right here. I hope SFIV gets a lot of buyers, but I just don't like the fact that they are giving away tips on how to use the characters effectively. And that's only in the trailer videos. Focus attacks, EX moves, Super attacks, etc. I would have most of the fun in figuring how to use my character with my own combos, but Capcom seems to be spoiling that for us already. :/
Being a major player of Street Fighter 2 (all re-releases) and Third Strike, I liked the challenge that was brought by effectively using characters such as T. Hawk, Zangief, Hugo, Q, etc. They would seperate the top advanced players from all the casual rookie players.
I guess I'm just saying this because I always look for a challenge in fighting games. But I might be skipping this game. :|
YouTube - Zangief (Pony) Owning @ X-Mania/Taikou 2002
YouTube - SSF2T - X-Mania IV - T. Hawk vs. M. Bison
YouTube - X-Mania 7: Pony (Zangief) vs. Toutanki (O.Hawk)
Look at the advanced techniques being used by these top low tier players. Tick throws, medium kick pokes, turtling, counterattacking, etc. It's all rewarding in the end when you rape a high tier abused character....
YouTube - SFIII: 3rd Strike - Hugo [YSB] vs Urien [RX]
YouTube - SFIII: 3rd Strike - Necro [Sugiyama] vs Urien [Messatsu]
YouTube - Street Fighter 3: J (Makoto) vs Kokujin (Dudely)
YouTube - Street Fighter 3: Third Strike - Chun-Li vs. Hugo
Now look at all the special combos/techniques present here. Parrying, Urien's EX Dangerous Headbutt => Metallic Sphere => Chariot Tackle => Aegis Reflector combo, Hugo's defensive playing, etc. Imagine how long it took these top players to discover these techniques, combinations, and strategies on their own without any help whatsoever. Using this knowledge to your advantage when raping entire tournaments is what makes this game so exciting.
Now that I look back, Capcom killed the thrill of the fight for me on SFIV. :|

The first Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers was the installment that gave you the 4 new characters. Turbo just added Super moves, new attacks for the characters, and balanced the game slightly.
The ultimate Street Fighter 2 game is HYPER Street Fighter II. It included all the SFII BGM's and all versions of the fighters dating back to the World Warrior. It's basically the ultimate port of the game itself.

Thanks for the correction, I'll be honest I've really only played SF II and SNK vs. Capcom. I'm still new to the series but I'm getting a hang of the game really quickly.

World Warrior only? It's pretty easy except when you have to face that damn Vega with his claw. >>;
Basically, here's the rundown of SFII:

World Warrior: Original Street Fighter 2 installment

Champion Edition: Made M. Bison, Balrog, Sagat, and Vega available as playable characters. Also included different costume palletes for the characters, along with the option of both players choosing the same character. This installment was the victim of numerous bootleg cabinets under the name of "Rainbow Edition" (Video 1) (Video 2).

Hyper Fighting: Probably the HARDEST Street Fighter II installment out of all five re-releases. This reitteration was made to counter the numerous bootleg arcade cabinets that had spawned throughout the world (known as Rainbow Edition). Game was sped up and A.I. was a major obstacle.

Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers: This was the installment that made the series literally explode. Cammy, Fei Long, Dee Jay, and T. Hawk were added to the roster of characters, new costume palletes were added, and more attacks were modified. Chun-Li was made a charge character like Guile, Blanka, and E. Honda.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo: Numerous changes were made in this version. Akuma was a secret playable boss/character, the game speed was made selectable, and you could still choose to play as the New Challengers version of your fighter by inputting a code immediately after choosing. Attacks were changed, new costume palletes were selectable, and the inclusion of Super attacks made this game a must play. The difficulty of Hyper Fighting was brought back, making this tough to overcome.
