Halo Wars Demo

The demo for the highly anticipated Halo Wars real-time strategy game was available for download on February 5th for Gold members and February 12th for Silver members.

For those of you who have downloaded it, what are your impressions? Was it worth the wait? Did it exceed expectations or are you disappointed that it doesn't quite have that Halo feel?

And for those of who you haven't downloaded it, you should! Check it out.

I like that it's a RTS. It expands the Halo gameplay, making it different yet still the same. I think many Halo fans will be slightly disappointed because it isn't the FPS that everyone loves, but I can tell you now that the game looks stunning. The cut scenes in the Campaign that I've seen so far are amazing and look so great. The environments and colors are nice to look at as well.

I thought it was going to be a steaming pile of crap since Ensemble made it sound like it was. I played the demo on the release day, and I really liked it. The whole concept of the socket bases is a bit odd for a console RTS, but that makes it unique. The leaders appearing in the game all have different (yet balanced) units so it shakes things up a bit. I'm definitely getting the Limited Edition.
The one thing that I find EXTREMELY unfair though, the MAC Blast. It pretty much destroys a base in one hit.

Although the cut scenes looked stunning, the graphics (in my opinion) werent too great. I was expecting more. But the gameplay is really fun! I played the first 2 missions over and over again. Cant wait for the actual game to come out.

I didn't really enjoy this demo.Why you say? Well I don't know,but maybe Real Time Strategy Games aren't my type of genres or types of games.

I like RTS, and on a console, the game appears to be gold so far.

The game is really good from what ive saw. They need to fix the rushing strategy though.

If you like being the guy who leads the troops like in EndWar, then you will love this game. Otherwise, your like me, I'd rather be the one killing the enemies. Over all, I give it a 4/5.

I love it.

I loved the star craft series and it's a little similar and since I'm a halo fan as well, it works both ways.
