I'm thinking of selling my Wii... -
04-12-09
This is why...
Communication - It's so hard to communicate with Friends while they're online in games. There should be a menu where you can see what games your friends are playing and an option to message them. Also, instead of having different Friendcodes for every single game we should have names instead that we use for every game. It'll be so much easier to add each other and saves us a lot of time from inputting Friendcodes and giving ours out for each game we play. Wiispeak is also an issue, why did Nintendo develop it to have a whole room be able to speak and hear the sound? Only one user plays the game, give them a mic...seriously.
Graphics - At the time when the Wii was released they had the option to make it an HD system like the PS3 and 360, but did they? No, they decide to make "another" Wii (HD) years later to milk the money out of you suckers. The Wii's graphics are garbage in most games I play, it's so bad that even Call of Duty 5 for the Wii had to blur a few images to make it look like the image was "meant" to be like that. The looks of the game bring effect.
Controls - Shooting games aren't meant to be played with a Wii Remote and Nunchuck but a controller. When playing Call of Duty 5 today I found the controls to be choppy and inconvenient to use. Other games such as Brawl, Mario Kart Wii and Mario Strikers though did a good job with the Wii Remote however. The Wii Remote is annoying to use for most games and I'm not a fan of it. Also, they could have made the Wii Remotes rechargeable by giving you a free USB you can connect to your Wii similar to how the PS3 and it's controllers work. I bought a Wii Remote charger but you can't play while it's charging which is really annoying. The Fact that they insist you use batteries is dumb too.
Games - What's next to come to the Wii? The Conduit? I doubt that will be good because of the Wii's bad graphics, controls and communication. I think the game is over-hyped too. After that, the Wii won't receive any quality titles for a while. So what is they're "making" a new Zelda and Mario game. How about us competitive people who love playing online? There's really nothing new.
Online - Brawl was probably the most anticipated game but has let people down. People can't play others randomly, they're no rankings/leaderboards, it's pretty laggy and no DLC. That's a major let down, we could have got more characters and stages, but lazy Nintendo is lazy.
Quality of Games - I'm going to use Call of Duty 5 again as a reference. The developers Treyarch deprived the Wii owners of around 16 different modes (such as Search and Destroy), Zombies and Downloadable content. It seems like the Wii can't handle top notch games.
Option to Play other discs - The Wii can play Gamecube games which is great, but why not DVDs or CDs? It doesn't cost that much to make the lens read those as well. Systems like the PS3 allow you to upload music from your iPod/discs to your PS3 so you can listen to them on you're TV while playing or not playing games. It's good because you can adjust the game and music sound.
Bad Home Menu - Yeah, we get cool channels but honestly, how much do you use them? They get boring after the first time you use them. It's also sad how they make you pay for their crappy Opera browser as well. In the shop channel they could gives us free demos to play, themes for our Home Menu and much more!
They're other reasons too, but those are the main points. :/
When I first got the Wii I thought all the features and online was incredible. It was new to me. But after being introduced to it's competitors my whole view changed...
Anyways, if I do sell my Wii I'll get around $350 - $500 Canadian Dollars if I sell accessories and games along with it. I'm also planning to sell my Gamecube (with games), Gameboy advanced SP (with some games) and my old Pokemon Cards too. I'll get around $1000 by selling all this and my parents are already buying me a Mac Book anyways, not bad, eh? I'll miss my Wii and I'll probably regret selling it at times, but most the time I'll be satisfied with my PS3. :')
This is what is included with my Wii:
Console
Power Adapter
AV connector
Sensor Bar
2 Wii controllers with neoprene cases
1 Wireless Third Party Nunchuck
1 official Wii Classic controller
System manuals
Free F-Zero Classic Game in Wii's Memory
Wii HD Pro Component cable (doesn't make it HD but adds to the quality)
^It doesn't do anything in my opinion. D:
Games:
Brawl
Mario Strikers
Guitar Hero III (w/ guitar)
Mario Strikers
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
I sold half my other ones already such as AC:CF.

BLAWGZ!
Really, man, that's a great decision. Words cannot describe how much the Wii sucks.
I don't remember, though; do you have a PSP? If not, get that. The connectivity with your PS3 is great, plus there are lots of cheap games that you can load up on it that are radically different than the fare offered on the PS3.

Nope, I don't have a PSP. I was thinking of putting this in a blog but my thread states a lot of the Wii's flaws that others can discuss. At least I didn't write...
"I'm selling my Wii. Discuss." or something like that. :P

Honestly if I wasn't so intertwined with the people I know who play brawl my Wii would be sold instantly. You have no idea how much I want a 360 with SF4,COD,halo,morrowind,Armored core and such other games.
All I play on my wii is brawl but online is so horrendous it's really discouraging to even keep playing.

Yeah, that's true :p
Anyway, yeah. I've said this numerous times today alone, and I'll say it again: It's truly disappointing to see a company that I've loved for all my life just die like this. It's like being friends with a cool kid like Cartman all your life, and then seeing him dress up as Hitler for Halloween (this time, though, Nintendo really IS a dictator :O)

i dont know if you would get nearly 1000$ but idk... i sold my wii, ds lite, and like literally 50 games and got $400- i spent that money and bought a real game system (360) but if people put as much effort into the games as nintendo did for zelda tp then it wouldnt be so bad. i got zelda tp for gamecube and i saw the graphics were such absolute ownage that i begged and begged my parents for a wii, and for what its like the innovation of the wii controllers is great but after the oo's and ah's 5 minutes later you get bored of them... nintendos loosing it

Re: I'm thinking of selling my Wii... -

Right now, I have a PS3, but want a Wii to go along with it. I always loved Nintendo games, and I like most of the first party games on the Wii. But I'm not gonna sell my PS3 to get one (especially after buying The Godfather II :]). I sold my Wii before, but that was my fault. I started hacking and stuff and it got boring, so when (or if) I get it a second time, I hope to actually buy the games..Also, I wouldn't sell my Gamecube either, since I still play some of its games (Paper Mario, Melee, Mario Power Tennis, MK:DD, etc), but that's just my opinion. You can do whatever you want.

All of your points are negative.
I dont know if this thread was made to get other opinions on what you plan to do, but when it comes right down to it, the decision to sell your wii is yours alone. The only thing you can get from others is negative or positive views.
If you're bored with your Wii and think it is a lost cause, Sell it. There is no point keeping something you are just going to regret having in the future. Sell it for a 360, whatever floats your boat.
Personally, I wouldn't. You're really ripping yourself off with all the money you're gonna lose.
