Dragon Ball license leaves Atari, returns to Namco Bandai

Here's what I think:

--Dragon Ball will get priority over Namco Bandai's in-house Gundam, Tales, Super Robot Wars: OG, and Summon Night, combined.

--As usual, Namco Bandai will milk this drier than ever.

--Yes, Dragon Ball is more profitable than Gundam, Tales, Super Robot Wars: OG, and Summon Night, combined.

...and guess how many times?

Yes, that's right: IT'S OVER 9000!

--It will prompt Namco Bandai to turn Dragon Ball as its new flagship series... in America!

The problem is, Namco Bandai's US operation prefers to make more mainstream games, as Tales is a niche title.

DBZ games are hit and miss. Budokai 3 was amazing. Some others are good. Some are crap.

Hopefully Dimps will go back to developing them.

I had a feeling this would happen eventually. I hope this doesn't affect the odds of localizations for the Tales series. I think Namco-Bandai needs to keep things in perspective, Dragonball(z) is just a license, and could be gone from them in 5-10 years, the in-house created series are bread and butter and should't be overcast by the license.

It's painfully clear that Namco Bandai neglects niche gamers...in America! This is displayed by its US offices, under-promoting Tales, which is the reason why it prefers to milk Dragon Ball games, which were revoked from Atari.

Hell, there's a growing joke within the niche gaming community that Namco Bandai would charger OVER 9000 times the amount for Super Robot Wars, Ar Tonelico, Summon Night, among other things.
