CoD Modern Warfare 2 airport level?

I came across this little bit of information yesterday, and i found it pretty disturbing. There's this level in Modern Warfare 2 where, from what it looks like, you're an undercover agent working with a group of terrorists to get information. Anyways, to get their trust, the level places you with them in an airport, where you are supposed to help them do whatever it is they are doing. This involves mowing down hordes of innocent civilians. Now i don't know if i saw it right, but i think i saw children in the leaked footage. It was taken by hand camera, but if thats what it is, this is going to cause serious controversy. And its just plain wrong.

So anyways, I'll let you draw your own conclusions, and post them if you like. But don't you use the age-old "its just a game" argument. That holds no ground anymore. Here are a few links to info

You'll have to find the video for yourself. Activision pretty much takes them down a day or so after they come out.

All of the videos have been removed I think. They give you a warning before the scene so I don't see anything wrong with it.

It's just a game...

There's a reason it's rated 17+. If you can't handle the mature content, then just don't play it. And that doesn't mean that there isn't anyone that can handle it, because most people can.

People, as always, are stupidly over reacting. GTA much? Plus, that scene is entirely skippable. You're not even supposed to play that if you're under age, and as said before, if you can't handle it, don't play it.

Plus I heard those were actual terrorists, not anyone undercover...

I haven't seen the footage, but it could be like the scene in COD 4 where you are in the first person perspective, being taken to your own execution while the credits roll. That said, it is just a game, and its rated accordingly. If you can't handle it, don't play it. Mobody is forcing you to.

Agree. I'm playing the Campaign right now. I haven't gotten to the level yet, but I think I will feel awkward when it happens. But, if you don't want to play the mission, you don't have to. You get the option to skip it if you wish.

Well the point i want to get across is "how far can an M rating go?" If you can put whatever you want and get an M (with a little money headed to the ESRB. It happens in MPAA, why not here), what's the point of even rating it? If Halo 3, which had little cussing and not an overly intense amount of blood, gets an M, and a game like this, where you're shooting civilians and possibly children gets the same, the strength of the rating system goes down the toilet. I don't care if it has a skipping button. Can you honestly say that most people will use it? I doubt it. I'm not trying to flame the game or anyone, I'm just trying to raise a topic for discussion. Please don't get mad at me.

Well, I wasn't getting mad. I was just simply putting what I thought about the topic into the conversation.

I'm not really worried about this or anything, but if you think of how many irresponsible parents let their small children play Call of Duty it gets pretty frightening. I'm all for the advocacy that videogames don't cause violence in individuals, but a 9-year-old exposed to this kind of thing could totally •••• their •••• up hardcore.

I also like how something like this fits an M rating, but something like this: (NSFW) causes total outcry. (Although yes, that is japan.)
