So why did you leave out
Doom, the main reason shooters became so popular, wolfenstein helped a little but Doom outdid it in terms of popularity.
Arcade Versions of Mortal Kombat, aka, the reason the ESRB even exists.
Super Mario Bros, the main reason consoles were able to keep afloat after the video game market collapsed.
God awful atari port of Pac man that helped cause the collapse.
Sonic the Hedgehog, the game directly competing with mario that drove many gamers to the Genesis.
One problem I have with you listing pysconauts is cause its a cult classic, it wasn't vastly popular, its only popular now, and just cause its phenomenal doesn't make it historic if people at the time ignored it.
