Playstation or Nintendo 64?

i had both, so pretty much they had their advantages

n64 had mk64, smash bros, super mario64, goldeneye, starfox64 to name a few

ps1 had Crash Bandicoot, Resident Evil, Megaman X4-X6, Klonoa, Spyro the Dragon etc.

its pretty much even for me

Nintendo 64 was the one that i use to hav it had lots of good games 4 it like mario kart 64, super smash bros., and pokemon stadium :D

The Nintendo 64 was the better system out of the two. Why? Because, like many already said, I prefer a smaller library that included many great titles, than a large library that only had a couple noteworthy games.

Very hard decision. PS1 had games like Crash Team Racing (despite being a complete MK64 rip it was still awesome) Resident Evil 2, Spyro and the Tony Hawk games. But N64 had Majora's Mask, Perfect Dark, MK64 and Smash Bros. I voted Ps1 though, because everyone voted N64 >_>

technically superior

very fey games used 64 bit on n64 most developers could only utilize 32. and the restriction to cartridge meant that they had to use small textures and stretch them out making many n64 games look like crap.

playstation got support from
squaresoft
enix
capcom (made better psx games than n64 games)
konami (still made games for n64 but they were crap ex: castlevania 64)

psx was graphically superior by far despite being (32 bit) because it used cd's and imo it got teh better games overall

I bought the Playstation. Never actually bought the N64 until later on. Playstation has some great games like SFAlpha3, Tekken 3 etc.

I also had both, so I'm pretty much even. Both had its pros and cons, though I would lean slightly more to the Nintendo 64 side.

Playstation packed a lot on to those discs and many claim it to be the more graphically powerful of the two. It basically defined RPG's, being home to several Final Fantasy games, among many many others that I won't bother to mention. On the flip side, I absolutely hated the load times.

That's an area where the N64 shined. Hardly any load times as a result of using carts. It also blew Mario up. This was the first time we saw Mario in 3D action, with Super Mario 64 being the most famous of his titles. The Nintendo 64 was also home of one of the best games of all time (some say THE best game of all time), Ocarina of Time. Plus it had some pretty kickass multiplayer games, like Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and Star Fox. It put many of Nintendo's franchises into the spotlight and provided a significant stepping stone for them to develop into the great games we see today (Brawl anyone?).

Yeah, I'm probably a bit biased towards Nintendo, but hey, I did have both of those consoles and simply enjoyed my N64 more.
