Elle, I want to go homebrew REAL bad, but I'm scared of custom firmware. Is it as scary as people say it is?

Also, with me already having 30 songs, a copy of Crash Bandicoot 3, and a Daxter save on my 1GB memory stick, will I have the space to take advantage of it?

Thanks in advance!

Just buy a new memory stick, they're cheap. I was scared about downgrading at first too, but the chances of it bricking are so slim. It pretty much won't happen to you. If it does, I'm pretty sure you just got your PSP just take it back with the receipt and say it stopped working...

If you have a Pandora Battery there is no chance of breaking it. The Pandora is used for fixing bricked PSP's and downgrading so there is no way to break it beyond fixable.

Also homebrew doesnt take more that 10mb and so you can use 1 gig for it... I have 1 gig and I have more than 50 applications/plugins/games it is not scary in any way

So HOW do you install custom firmware on the PSP? Will you still be able to play retail/PSN games? Please make a more specific guide for us, mam.

Well you need to know someone with Custom Firmware or 1.50 or you will have to hardmod a battery (Must be a Spare phat) and cut the 5th pin on the ICO4 box then your done... But you will need a magic stick too... I think Nintendoelf has a guide on his Youtube... Or you can buy a 20$ Battery...

OR if you have a phat PSP and didn't upgrade just go to Dark-Alex.org and download 3.90 M33 and put the Update folder in PSP>>Game... If none of this is possible for you if you didnt upgrade your slim you can use a Downgrader... Of course you can play normal games
P.S sorry I keep double posting... I am on PSP with a character limit

Ew I hate the character limit on PSP

You could also get this: PSP Battery Service Tool - Codejunkies US
It converts your battery to and from Pandora as many times as you want. This is what I used to hack my Psp and it works in a few seconds.

In case you're wondering, it rewrites the serial number to service battery mode and when you pop it in again, it writes in a generic battery code to make it normal. You still need a magic Mem stick but you can get one of those with a 256 and a few programs.

If you only want applications, 1 gig should be plenty but for Isos (full games), you should get a 2 gig at least.

Oh yeah, do you know how to get Ctf files to work, Elle? I couldn't figure it out. They don't even show up for me.
