Metal Gear Solid 4 on the Xbox 360

I haven't heard any of these rumors (though I'm sure there's constantly rumors of this sort floating around for any game/system), and even if I had, I wouldn't believe them for a second. The thought of MGS4 on the 360 is simply a dream and as Snakepit clearly mentioned, the 360 just doesn't have the capabilities of running that caliber of game. While it would be nice to have MGS4 on the 360, it's not a huge deal to me. Maybe because I wasn't a fan of the Metal Gear Solid series in the first place, though.

And Mattwhite, I'm much the opposite as you. Yeah, the PS3 is uber powerful compared to the 360 (which is still powerful in itself), but the controllers are one of the things that I just can't get used to. I'm so used to the letter system that all these squares and triangles gets annoying. It wouldn't be too hard to get used to, but overall I like the 360 controllers bettter. More comfortable for me.

Thanks for putting these rumors to rest Snakepit. All rumors do is get your hopes up and setting yourself up for disappointment. Don't believe anything you hear unless it's been confirmed by the company itself.

What about that wii rumour how many discs would that need

I think the Wii would actually explode. You'd stick in the first of many MGS4 discs, the intro would load beautifully. You'd press Start (or +) to begin the game, and your Wii will actually explode.

I think it would actually implode, leaving the disc inside completely unharmed.

And the Wii Optical disc is actually the same size as a normal DVD, so it would be 5 discs for MGS4

Just google "MGS4 on the 360" and you'd be amazed at all the crap reports that come up. All of them, if they have a source, it will be "Un-named, anonymous Konami employee" who is actually some 14 year old who sent them an email saying "lul i wrk 4 kojima nd he saidz mgs4 r cuming 2 360"

Tis true that it is impossible, the Xbox360s hardware is no match for the Ps3s and can't handle a game of this quality, the graphic engine this game was made with was specifically made for the Ps3's hardware and nothing else. This game would have to be dumbed down to a maximum amount to put on a 360 and all the 3D effects on walls, floors, rocks, faces, everything would look flat and less detailed, the gloss in everything such as metals, guns, and other shiny objects would have to be toned down aswell and would look awful. Thats why this was made to be a Ps3 exclusive, because the Xbox360 CANNOT handle it.

It could barely even handle sons of liberty, when i played the xbox version, it was very glitchy, and the controls were unsure, as in took a moment to react to the buttons, i did not like the xbox version at all

I'm not a fanboy of any console even if I enjoy xbox live over psn but I need to straighten things out here. In the NXE (new xbox experience) dashboard update, they added quad layer dvd support. This said, the games can now hold up to 22GB if not a little more. MGS4 is 48GB. Oh my it will never fit in there, said the little ••••••ed kid reading such thread. To say the truth, the entire game in about 18GB with the extra 30GB filled up with blank data to make the game load faster. Sony's using their own format which can contain an incredible amount of data, sadly, the ps3 could never get a game that would fit the entire disc. Even if it goes on 360, I'm sure the devs would prefer Sony over microsoft and release all their games earlier on the ps3. I wouldn't get it since I already have it for ps3 but I'm sure a couple of peeps would enjoy playing it on their 360 and have a blast.

I don't think you guys knew what you could do with 18GB of space.

Anyway, in response to what mat128 said, it wasn't all blank data to make the game load faster (that's what the install was for) The game developers decided that they didn't any ANY compressed sound files on the game disc, as they believed that it wouldn't sound as good as uncompressed files. that's what a bulk of that non-essential game data is.
