Intro to the FC Graphics League! (Updated FAQ 17/01/11)

Welcome to the new FC Graphics League! This is where you can post your graphics and battle them against other members at FC. We used to have a graphics battling forum, the Graphics Battle Corner, but it kind of died. This time, the rules will be a bit different, so make sure you read this thread carefully! For now, the Graphics League will be signatures/sigs only.


All battles are one on one (1 v 1)

1. You will need someone to play against. Try and pick someone who is around your level. If you're having trouble finding an opponent post in the Battler's Den, contact a friend or someone who is active in this forum.
2. Both of you will post one signature only, in a thread. That's it! Remember, all the standard forum and art rules apply, so in particular that means all work must be your own (no ripping).

After this, there will be a period of 3 days for voting. Everyone is expected to abide by the following rules when voting. Breaking these rules places you at risk of losing access. Please try to give reasons when voting.

The rules for voting are as follows :

- Don't vote for your friends just to help them win. Vote for the best signature.
- Don't vote for a signature just because you like the character or for non-graphics related reasons. Again, you should vote for (what you think is) the best signature.
- You shouldn't vote for someone as a joke. Take your vote seriously.

Here is a good example of how to vote

I vote for Chaser's sig because it has great depth and the colors are pretty nice.

Here is an example of how you should NOT vote

I vote for Chaser because we're best friends and because that sig has Goku in it and I really love Goku.

Whoever gets the most votes after three days is declared the winner.

Beginner rank awarded for 5 wins
Apprentice rank awarded for 10 wins
Advanced rank awarded for 15 wins
Professional rank awarded for 20 wins
Artisan rank awarded for 25 wins

Q. So what about the old graphics teams from the original Battle Corner, huh?
A. Gone.
Sorry, it just seemed like they were too exclusive and we didn't want to be excluding enthusiastic members who might have only been starting out with their graphics. Feel free to continue the graphics teams in a social group or thread, however these will now be considered unofficial.

Q. So will I be able to challenge more than one person at once?
A. Unfortunately, no. This makes it simpler for everyone. Without teams, there isn't really a point to having big battles. If you're looking for that kind of challenge, try the Signature of the Month (SotM, located in the Artist and Writer's Guild Forum)

Q. Can I use the same signature for more than one battle?
A. Short answer: no.
Long answer: noooooooooooooo... o.

Q. Is there any prize for being the No.1 in the league?
A. None =P, as of yet. That could change, but for now it's just bragging rights.

Q. I'm having trouble finding an opponent. What do I do?
A. Just look for people who have made signatures around your level and send them a message on their profile or even Private Message them. Another option is to post in the Battler's Den requesting a battle. You could also ask your friends to battle with you. If you're feeling brave just challenge one of the Graphics Gurus.

Q. So, this is the same thing as the Graphics Battle Corner but with a new name?
A. Pretty much. Still, there's a lot of cool stuff to do this time around, and it's far more open to everybody. Enjoy it, guys.

Q. So once I'm in, I'm in? No outsies?
A. Not exactly. As a registered user in the Graphics League you'll have to regularly participate to retain voting and posting privileges in the forum. With participating we mean voting or battling. You have to vote at least once every four battles, or, if four new battles have not yet been posted, once a month. Another option is to participate in one battle a month.
