SUBMIT BRAWL CODE
CHECK ROSTER TO FIND WHO YOU PLAY
PLAY ALL YOUR MATCHES
SUBMIT YOUR RESULTS...... that simple
Don't let all the text scare you -everyone plays more than just a single match
-the competition will easily narrow down
-you meet lots of different people
-possibly make some friends to train with since you've now entered their friend codes
-everyone plays at the same time.... think about it... EVERYONE is playing EVERYONE all at once!
The main requirement to play in this online tournament is a little common sense.
Summary:
For most players this will be a single evening event. For a few it will occur on the following evening as well. You will submit registration information. When registration closes I will post your name under one of the groups. You will locate your group and add the brawl friend codes of these 14-20 people. After about a half hour... you will begin playing everyone in your group, one at atime and once only each. You will need to record the outcome of each match so that when you're done playing everyone in your group you can post your results on this forum. A score for each player will be determined to see who advances to elimination bracket which happens the next day.
Think of it like Mario Strikers tournament mode. Round Robin-->Single Elimination
Points will be awarded for both wins and losses however no points will be awarded if player results contradict. To guarantee the most points possible always record the proper outcome.
To recap...
1) post your registration information before the deadline {how to register will be shown in a moment)
2) play against ALL you oppoents from your pool or until time runs out.
3) properly submit your results by the post deadline. (how to post results will be shown shortly)
4) check the next day to see if you qualify for the elimination bracket.
Competitors are expected to know how to enter brawl codes, create/join matches, and use their internet.

REGISTRATION:
-
It is greatly encouraged that you have your own console and a copy of Brawl. However, you can have a friend play too, but you will see that this will hurt your chances of qualifying for the second day and means less playing time for you.
What you two still have to gain is fun and experience for you and your friend... so I encourage you to invite friends to future tournaments if you're looking to just play for experience, because qualifying is no easy task.
ROUND ROBIN: SEEDING FOR THE ROUND ROBIN
- The first tournament will have no initial seeding. From that point forward, anyone who qualifies for the elimination bracket of the first tournament will be considered for seeding in the second tournament's round robin.
VIEWING ROUND ROBIN GROUPS
A roster list for each group will be available for everyone to view. You will locate your name from one of the lists such as this:

*note that this is only one group... there will be at least 4 groups per tournament.
ONCE THE GROUPS ARE POSTED YOU will then add everyone's brawl codes to your friend list. Once this is done you will play each opponent. We will probably have scheduled times for each round or we might just have you play at your own risk. If it's organized into time slots it will look something like this:
[WHEN THE ROUND ROBIN IS OVER (AND YOU HOPEFULLY GOT TO PLAY EVERYONE IN YOUR GROUP) POST THE FOLLOWING] 1 [this is your GROUP #] 5 [Your # from the master list]What's the master list? you

[realize that contradicting results will cause your overall win/loss to change... changing your score]
[and then below you put the details of who you played/didn't play]
note: realize that the above is what this person posted. mario8 may claim that he beat you... in which case neither player would get points for that match. Once again, your submitted results are in no way final. ELIMINATION BRACKET
If you’re good enough to make it this far you will see your name posted in a newly created bracket on this forum.
QUALIFYING FOR BRACKET/BRACKET SIZE
HERE IS THE CURRENT IDEA...
-Bracket size will be the standard 4,8,16,32, 64 or my goodness.... 128. This way byes will NOT be awarded unless someone obviously fails to compete (auto win for other person)
Let...
# of groups = G
size of bracket = B
Then the number of qualifiers per group is simply = B/G
EXAMPLE: 4 groups with a bracket size of 16 results in the top 4 per group qualifying.
-More contestants = more groups, more people per group, fewer people per group who qualify.
-The goal is to maximize the size of groups... while minimizing the size of the elimination bracket... if only 100 people register... don't expect a 32 size elimination bracket. More than likely it would be split into 4 groups of 25 with the top 2 or 4 qualifying per group.
There will be virtually zero consideration taken if a players score is extremely close to those who qualified... understand that even one score contradiction will probably not cost you the ability to qualify for the elimination tournament. Such a small portion will qualify that you will earn it, regardless if you deserve to.
When directors post the OFFICIAL results they will be clearly displayed so that you see what matches you were given credit for and which ones had contradictions.
SEEDING/Creating ELIMINATION BRACKET
This will not be based off of your round robin results. The elimination bracket will have no seeding for now. Any seeding will be the result of previous elimination bracket tournament results. Thus, this being the first tournament... no seeding is possible. Understand that seeding based off the round robin is a poor choice because it is all relative to that specific group of competitors... there is no way to accurately compare how well members from different groups did.
The bracket will be posted with scheduled times for each round. Once again, I'm expecting the first tournament to be finished in two days with all the Elimination matches being done on the second day. More detail on this will follow after we gain a better understanding of how some online features work.
