phantom hourglass- battle mode- any tips? - 12-07-07

I keep losing at the battle mode in LoZ Phantom Hourglass. When i'm just about to win, the opponent turns the power off. And some people in the game are just un-beatable. Do you have any tips on how to win without turning off the power?

I know those disconnector guys. They are just so selfish or noobish that they hate to lose...
Anyway, about tactics.
1. If you bceome player2, you're lucky. When you have your third turn as Link, go to enemy's base and throw all Triforce/triangles out and throw them to neutral safe spot, so he'll lose his points.
2. Don't carry medium or big triangles, throw them! Tap triangle, so Link will run to get it and throw it as long as you can, all the way to screen's edge. Then tap it again and throw.
3. As phantoms, draw lines very fast. Try to catch Link with big triangle or try to chase him into corner. Sometimes it's good to leave one phantom to guard your base from opponent.
4. In some stages, if there is corner or dead-end near your base, this VERY good strategy to protect your triangles: Throw neutral triangle to your base to get points. Then pick it up again and throw it to corner/dead-end. When you change to phantom, put ne phantom in middle of triangles. If enemy comes too close your triangles, he'll get one heck of a whack right to his head!:)

The person 2 above me had some great points. I'm o.k. at this game ( my account record is 39(wins) - 0(losses) - 2(ties) and I've 3080 points ) and I've never quit. ( quitters and cheaters can drop dead ) My number 1 tip is to watch what someone who can beat you does. #2 Have a DEFENSE!! So many times if you just wandered with the Phantoms the other player will just slip past. For each field there is a specific Defense for each situation - if he gets past don't send all your Phantoms to one spot, that's stupid your letting him have free roam of the field. #3 Also, ROLL! Use the rolling capability to roll... duh... you can use Phantoms attack to your advantage. Wait until a Phantom swings his sword and then roll in the other direction - wahallaaaaa - he's stuck with making that swing and you get an extra few steps - repeat and he can't catch you ... ever. #4 Don't let yourself get stuck ... avoid places where he can easily position his Phantoms in a way that prevents you from escaping. (( You can beat all the hacks - walking through walls and jumping link - not invincible {actually you can, but it's REALLY hard} just stick it out and guard you triangles well and you'll be fine. so that's really long and probably doesn't make much sense... but whatever I'm bored and it's 12:35 AM ............ WHATEVER!!!!!1

My name on Battle Mode will either be - z3ro or Guthix - and I'll be playing a lot tonight and tomorrow... maybe I'll get the opportunity to beat you! ; D

That works every time. But I can't help you with the power off thing. You can't stop your noobish opponents from doing that.
