You start a drift turn to one side and then just as soon as you get the blue MT sparks you boost, jump out of it and turn the other way. It can be used to gain a tiny bit of time on straight aways if done correctly.

This video isn't extensive enough to change my opinion from launch. While the mechanism known as snaking does exist, it becomes so impractical that you're better off mastering other techniques. Not to mention most trials with snaking were done on N64 Luigi's Raceway by far the widest section of free track in the game. I would be interested in seeing a more extensive video of snaking if it is available.

It doesn't matter if its hard, people just didn't do it before because they thought it was slower. It can be applied to toad circuit, luigi raceway, bottom of waluigi pinball, kali desert, simple tracks generally. Why would u not want to learn something that makes u faster?

I think I did since you posted a vid and info relevant to Mariokart 7, pretty sure we did.

The execution of snaking in MK7 takes too long compared to DS, which makes it useless or just another way to drive but have no more value then the normal way.

Snaking actually does make you practice a crap load.
