You know I can't see strategy in using items to rape my opponents anyone can do that. Also I can't see why the wi-fi is better. First, the wi-fi has better quality on the Wii but, takes a staggering THREE MINUTES to load. On the other hand, MKDS only takes 10 SECONDS to load once you find your opponents. On worldwide I find opponents in seconds. It has to be said Nintendo rushed production on MKDS to launch the wi-fi on time this lead to the lack of Battlemode and all 32 courses. In comparison Nintendo had all the time they needed to work on Mario Kart Wii.

I like mkwii more than mkds because of bigger screen and better graphics but i love to play mkds on long trips and stuff. definite second.

So your saying its okay for noobs to win by simply pressing up on the control pad? On MKDS it actually took skill to win not by simple throw of the dice. I agree the graphics are better but, thats a worthless comparison since the Wii is a console and the DS is a handheld. Not to mention the Wii is a younger console than the DS. They only added two items the Lightning cloud and the POW Block. These items further noobified the game. 12 players are more fun but, at a cost it eliminates the skill level in a sense. I am not saying it takes no skill to win the game with these items I am just saying the best players can still lose to people who are just starting to play. In MKDS skill always determined the winner except in close races when an occasional blue shell would ruin first place's chance of winning. You are also right the wi-fi is better in fact its got the best wi-fi of any game. The thing to consider was Nintendo rushed development on MKDS so it could be finished in time for the launch of Nintendo wi-fi.

I just started playing mkwii a lil bit more than 2 weeks ago, so I think its better to say that "the best players can still lose to NOOBS!!! due to the freaking luck factor". One can always find friends that are good and play with them, in order to avoid the crappy worldwide/regional vr system populated with mostly noobs and hackers.

MKDS = 90% skills / 10% luck (by skills Im not talking only about how to snake or prb, but also how to use your items wisely, and overall knowledge of every course)

I like MKWii for a lot of reasons, I just dislike its too noobish friendly.
