i think that would be cool.

you could have tracks with or without rails.
flat turns, or turns going up or down hill.
boost pads.
half pipes.
etc.

that would be awesome

Depends what tools nintendo wanted to give you, if I recall they had something like this in that Diddy Kong racing game for DS and it didn't turn out very well.

That would be a great idea, Nintendo would probably have a basic look to them, but it'd be awesome. Imagine making your own Rainbow Road D:

to give you a picture of how it could work...

in excite bike, you could design your own tracks, imagine that but in 3D, and with turns.

it wouldn't be all that hard

Yeah, Excitebike64 has one of the best course editor, but only stadium circuits through.

As for MK Wii that is very easy to do.
If Nintendo allows users to move the set pieces of SNES and GBA courses like in the Excite bike editor, then we have everything we need to start with.

I don't expect it will be easy for the already 3d courses of MK 64 and its cohorts, since there are too much unique set pieces to make it happen.

We could even build SNES and GBA tracks from F-zero and other race games.
