NEW NOTICE!
You all should have gotten a PM or a notice that told you what time that you are playing in the tournament. Like I said, I would arrange the times so that EVERYONE would be able to play. Unfortuantely, it didn't turn out that way, so...
ALL RACE TIMES ARE MOVED TO NEXT WEEK ON THE SAME DAY AT THE SAME TIME!
Example: If you were supposed to play at 12:30 PM on Sunday, that's the time you'll play next weekend!
Lots of people needed the time changed, and two groups were simply impossible to arrange. This is the
LAST CHANGE I WILL MAKE.
Try to remember! Thanks!
--------------------------------------------------
All slots are filled!! I once again thank everyone who has registered for registering on this special-rules tournament. I'm glad to announce that all 32 slots are filled. Please note that I will send out a copy of the rules and the chatroom link to everyone who has registered, but I will also put the rules here, too, of course. Now, here's the rules for the tournament. The rules consist of a few classic, traditional rules of course, but there will be some special rules for this first-time tournament. -You may use any character on any vehicle of your choice. -Tracks can be chosen, but you may still choose random. Tracks may not be played more than once in a single Grand Prix. -No glitches/super-shortcuts/exploits can be used. This goes for both Grumble Volcano and Mushroom Gorge. Now for the special rules in the tournament. -You will not choose teams. They will be randomly chosen by the game when you select "Team VS race" as the match type. -The host of each room will be selected by me. (I'm the host of the tournament, so I'm willing to host each room I'm in. Let me know if you'd like to, though.) -A picture MUST BE TAKEN of... ...the roster for each team after randomly selected by the game. ...the scores after the match is played. -Note that if you lose in the first round, you are NOT YET done with the tournament. It is NOT a double elimination tournament, but the 16 who lost in the first round will determine the 17th-32nd rankings. This means that everyone will play in the same amount of matches. Last, but not least, the D/C rules. -If someone other than the host gets disconnected, then they keep the points they have when the disconnection occurs (provided proof or a majority vote (2 out of 4 is considered majority) of the opposing team). If a majority vote can't come to, then the opposing team drops their lowest score. -If the host disconnects, everyone can agree to either: ...Restart the Grand Prix. ...Restart the Grand Prix, but add in the scores from the last Grand Prix (provided there is proof of the scores) ...Ask me to assign a new host, or just agree on someone else to host. -If the same host disconnects more than once, a new host must be selected. If the next host disconnects more than once, I will assign a new host. If anyone would like to run a rule I forgot by me or suggest a rule, please PM me. Yes, the sound of random teams might sound a bit...luck-based, but it helps to realize that you must depend on not only yourself, but your team, to become victorious. Good luck, everyone!!
-----------------------
Hey, everyone! Welcome to the first (hopefully monthly...I dunno) 4-on-4 Team VS 32-man tournament! Where you have to depend on your team to advance through the tournament...but there is ONE catch.
The teams are RANDOM! That's right, you may be on someone's team in one match, but you may be their opponent in another! The ultimate test of luck and trust! Can you befriend your partners and work together to triumph, or will you completely mess up and fail? Out of 32 (default) contestants, one will walk away the victor.
Now, you might be confused by all of this, so let me explain.
The tournament must have 32 players--no exceptions, sorry. The group of 32 will be split into equal groups of 8 to have a Team VS match. The Team VS match is the system that will make the teams random--4v4.
Here's how the tournament will work:
-In round one, 32 people will divide into 4 groups of 8, each made into a 4v4. 16 will continue.
-In round two, the 16 people who won in round one will divide into 2 groups of 8, each made into a 4v4. 8 will continue.
-In the quarterfinals, the 8 people who won in round two will play as one group of 8, made into a 4v4. 4 will continue.
-In the semifinals, the 4 people who won in the quarterfinals will play as one group of 4, made into a 2v2. 2 will continue.
-In the finals, the last two contestants will duke it out in a best 3-out-of-5 GP match!
Every person WILL BE RANKED in positions as the best, #1, to the worst. As to how the matches will work, just leave that to me. YOU ARE NOT QUITE DONE IF YOU ARE BEATEN BY ANOTHER TEAM. Sign up if you are one person who loves to race and wants to have the chance to make a name for yourself! Not to mention that you WILL make more friends, trust me! I'll set up a chatroom for everyone who decides they would like to participate. I hope you all like xat! :P IF ENOUGH PEOPLE WOULD LIKE TO JOIN, I'LL GLADLY MAKE THE TOURNAMENT 64, 128 OR EVEN 256 PLAYERS--I'LL BE TELLING AS MANY PEOPLE AS I CAN. I've decided to post this same tournament in the Mariokartwii.com forums. To register:
-Post your information. (
FC, clan tag preferably, etc.)
The tourney will start when the required amount of people are signed up. Thank you!
YES, there are D/C rules and such, but due to the varying size of this tournament, I will decide what will be best and I will post them shortly. NOTICE
Times for the matches will be decided
when every slot is filled. If you can only participate at a certain time, please let me know. I'll do what I can to arrange it at your convienience.
NEW NOTICE
Since this is the first tournament of this kind, I've decided that I
WILL BE HOLDING THE PARTICIPANT LIMIT AT 32! Sorry if you were hoping for more. If this is successful, prepare to see more of its kind.
