Hints, techniques? Hmm....

Don't use cheap tricks at all, but if you insist on using them, don't use them excessively.

Other than that, simple, have a balance team (doesn't necessarily mean a Balanced type characters).

That's really all I can think of. Just play the Story mode for a while, and you should get a good picture of how the game works.

I don't remember it that much, but I'm sure it's mostly the same, they might've just add more to it.

No it's not the same. It's way more advanced the GC one is nothing compared to the Wii one.
