Anyway, I'd say most of the Miyazaki anime are worth watching. Akira is good as far as I know, and when looking for a series, erm... Bleach can be gotten into, and try Excel Saga if you're crazy.

There are so many possibilities with anime! There is long anime, there is short anime. There is sappy anime, there is violent anime. But here are my personal recommendations:

(I won't go into what each is about, because I'm just that lazy :P)

Sailor Moon: What started it all for me. Looking back right now, the animation wasn't all that spectacular, but it is action packed all the way through all 200 episodes. =3

Cardcaptor Sakura: Another magic girl anime. Esoteric, and mad funny. Consists of two season, about 50 episodes i want to say. Not all that bad :p

Revolutionary Girl Utena: I think you'll love this one Rik. It has action, comedy and a lot of obscurity when you really read into it. ;) 69 episodes long, but every one of them RAWKS!!

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Possibly the best anime you'll ever encounter. (If you're into this kind of story haha). 26 episodes I think and a movie which serves as the real ending.

Ah! My Goddess: Whether you watch the OAV, or the two year old anime, you'll have plenty of fun!! =3

Chobits: Cute cute.

and of course... the anime which does not fit into a single category:

Elfen Lied: there is a little bit of EVERYTHING in this anime. Horror, suspense, action, violence, gore, comedy, cuteness, drama, love. Only 12 episodes long, but OMG.

Hey R1kk1, you should check out Inuyasha and Trigun, they are both great animes too watch, good mix of drama, humor, and excitement in these series.

You should watch Shakugan no Shana and Tengen toppa gurren lagann. You can find these animes on Veoh.com its way better than youtube seeing how they are deleting anime shows. You also will like bleach if you can't find bleach anime on Veoh try goin on Dattebayo.com and downloading it there(your going need a bittorrent to download it).

Anyway, Pisoga, this site has a huge amount of animes.
My favs at the moment are:-

• Death Note (not action packed, but entertaining. Less than 40 episodes long)
• Bleach (skip the fillers, they suck)
• D. Gray-man
• Shakugan no Shana (kinda romantic >_>, still epic though)

Naruto is alright for a while I guess, but it starts to get repetative and boring like DBZ did, after the fillers start it sucks (including Shippuden)

Start out with a short anime like Death Note, or Fullmetal Alchemist, or even FLCL. Stay AWAY from Naruto. Then go to something still running like Bleach.

for akira read the manga. the anime sucks compared to the manga and it's one of the greatest anime films of all time so that's really saying something eh?

yeah, naruto and dbz.
when you watch episode 3 from naruto, will laugh and laugh.
it's the best anime. and dbz is more accion than naruto.
but i hate db when goku is a kid, the best is dbz season 2, when goten and trunks appeard.
