Re: Anime - 07-15-08

I've watched my fair share of it, recently I've begin to read manga too, after watching most animes series.

I have a collection of over 300 DVD's, I'll need to take a new picture since the amount has increased since the last time I took a pic, I'm always interested in seeing other peoples collections.

Some of my favourites are Azumanga Daioh, Elfen Lied, Martian Successor Nadesico, Clannad, Lucky Star and Code Geass, of the ongoing series I enjoy Naruto, One Piece and Bleach.

Soul Eater is pretty much crazy.

Re: Anime - 10-22-08

1. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - the greatest show ever made. Bar none.
2. Outlaw Star - an oldie-but-goodie. One of my personal faves.
3. Robotech - here it is, the giant robot show that started the craze back in the 80's. Pure gold.
4. Transformers (1st generation) - another awesome transforming robot show. Screw every transformers iteration that came after the original.
5. Tenchi Muyo/Tenchi Universe - it's got your laughs, your drama, and your sexy (disturbing) demons.
6. Shuffle - this one's a little randy for some of the younger folks, but it's funny as heck.
7. Ichigo 100% - 16+, please. Easily one of the funniest shows ever made.
8. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - if you haven't seen this, do yourself a favor and watch it.
9. Jubei-chan - a short series by the legendary Mad House.
10. Trigun - another series developed by Mad House, and a pretty incredible one.
11. Tsukikabe Ran - an alcoholic female samurai with a cat-fist master are awesome.
12. Ranma 1/2 - comedy gold. It can't be beaten.
13. One Piece - not that 4kids crap, the original series recently translated in all of its glory by Funimation.
14. Neon Genesis Evangelion - emo or not, this show's incredible.
15. Bobobo-bo-bobobo - Farcical take on everything you've ever seen. Ever.
16. Lucky Star - it's like real life, but better. With commentary after every show.

As far as movies go, I'd recommend:

1. Metropolis - based off one of Osamu Tezuka's stories, one of the greatest animated films ever made.
2. Ghost in the Shell - 18+ only. Still a milestone in Japanese filmmaking.
3. Akira - 18+ only. Another milestone, and the one that introduced the genre to the mainstream U.S.
4. Steamboy - from the director of Akira, a sort of British steampunk adventure. Very good.
