They're okay. The eyes seem too big, and the cheeks look constipated. I'm sure that they would look better if you got a scanner though.

Yep, a scanner or a direct link from a digital camera would look the photo's better.
Alas, I don't have those things.

You shouldn't hide hands behind the back/in the pocket just because you lack experience drawing them.

Good start, needs practice though.
