You could improve on them. They are also good for a start.

The renders are pretty good and same with the theme of colors.

Is there something that needs to be worked on in particular? I've only been using brushes now, but should I make my own backgrounds? And how do people do it? Just layering colors?

The colors are to intense. The text could use some work as well.
To get to the point, they look messy to me. But they are very good for a start. ^^

Thanks for the advice! On the Dragonball sig, I went for intense colors on purpose (a 'heated' battle) and the Bleach one (#4) I made messy for a reason (addicts aren't often the tidiest of people).

My Darth Vader sig is a bit 'calmer' and hasn't got any really intense colors. Improvement? ^^
