If you ever want to know the genesis of G n' G, then the 1st one is good for a couple of go's.

Aside from better graphics, better sound & far better balanced you can do a double jump (the debut of double jumping).
Which offers so much more freedom to do your thing and adds a lot of fun to the basic G n' G gameplay.
Plus SG n' G is next to Ultimate G n' G (PSP & PSN) the most widely available installment of the series.

I heartly recommend you play the prequel 1st for the GBA: Aria of Sorrow.
You will understand the story much better.
