I don't want to be called Estevan, that is what people call me when they misspell my name! I want to be called Divine E, but no mater what I do, they wont.

I see your point, but changing your avatar and your sig that have "Estevan" written all over it would be a start. And begin referring yourself with the desired name.

While I can see your view point, your arguments are flawed. Personally, I own a website with 200 + members where we are able to change our names at will. This has cause no commotion on the site at all. Generally, once a person finds a user name they like, they wont change it at all. Also, this name changing rule has really been around for much longer, and the only reason it was posted again is that the new staff continuously got special privileges to change their name. I believe we all deserve the same privileges here on FC. I feel that just because someone has a staff position on this site doesn't mean that they should seem better than us. Another flawed argument is that if I want to be called by a different name, then put so in my profile. I have done so many times, and I am still called things like Estavan, Esta, Estevan, and other misspelled treacheries. The only time I am even called Divine E (My user name of choice.) is when a person from another site knows it's me. Regardless, this has become much less about name changing, and more about our right to say what we want. No where in the rules to my knowledge does it say we can't make threads that ask people if they support the current rules implemented by the staff. I made a thread about this however, and I was quickly silenced. FC.com fails to listen to it's members, and when it's members make every effort to bring something to their attention, it is ignored, closed, or deleted. However, I will be staying here on friendcodes, only on the advice of a friend. I will continue to support the cause, that many people have told me they support. Hopefully, others will see the truth and help support the cause too.
