I give it an 8.

Its slow at first and killing big monsters can take forever and once you kill them you don't get much feedback but after all that its still a pretty fun game and the online is endless almost. There are no FCs so you can just send someone a friend request and Boom they can be your friend. If you are impatient then this game is not for you. Here is a review of it

I have Monster Hunter G (its a playstation2 port that was released for wii only in japan) and even though i dont understand most of it, I find the game pretty fun!
They say online is even better, but i do not play it online because on Monster Hunter G you have to pay wii points to play online (Monster Hunter Tri is free).
Im gonna buy this game, but i have other priorities so idk when i will get this one but i really want to play this someday. (especially online)

Its a great game to play, I recommend it. There is however a lack of story or no story, you're basically completing quests that get harder as you progress through the list. You can collect and upgrade various armor and weapons that are visible on your character. Online mode is fun when you have friends waiting to slay beasts alongside you, playing with strangers is enjoyable as well.

Its a great game to pick up and play, but its also a great time killer. I suggest you have like a whole 2-3 hours open because you may just be playing it for that long, even longer.

However. 3rd came out and it is far superior to tri: more monsters, higher difficulty, more weapons, more quests.
Then again if you don't have Ad-Hoc(or Ad-Hoc game bridge) you may have a hard time with the online/offline quests(there really is no difference) because they do get pretty hard once you get to the 4th rank.(That's when Deviljho appears so its a snowballs chance in heck you'll win)
So if you mainly want it for online aspects get tri(it may be dead though)
