Good Karma, Bad Karma: The DO's and DON'Ts for Karma
Introduction
You all know what karma is right? It's those little bars on the side of members names that shows how good or how bad a member has been around here on Friendcodes (well, that's controversial. Some members have red karma bars but are really nice). Now, if you are a typical member, you would want a full karma bar (red or blue) if I asked you. Well, this guide is especially for you.
Now, you may be asking me right now "Well, what are you going to do about it?" or "Wait, so you can instantly give me bars of karma? Shweet." Well, I am doing something about it by making a conduct guide on how to enhance your chances of you getting good and/or bad karma. Now, make a note that I did say 'enhance chances'. That does not mean that after viewing this guide, you will instantly gain three hundred reputation points, nor do I guarantee that you will earn any karma after reading this. But I think that this may help members who don't have an idea on how to act around forums with other members.
The DO's of Reputation/Karma: What you Should Do
First of all, I am going to talk about how to act in order to possibly recieve more reputation. Now, people all around the world have an instinct of reacting positively to people who are nice to them. Well, there's a no-brainer. Be nice to other members around the forums! Especially new members. Don't call them any names (like noob for example, that's a big no-no). Help them out. For instance, if a member has a question about life, you should probably answer their question with as much knowledge about the topic as you can. Who knows? You may be the key answer to his question. And if the member who asked is typical, they'll apprecitate you greatly. Whether it's a big thanks or karma, you know you have done something right. So be thankful for that! Secondly, make things for people! Some of you may have an excellent skill in art. You may be exceptionally perfect in the life of digital artique! Well, express your inner artist on the forums! If you think you are a good artist, you may BE a good artist. According to the guidelines and rules of the forum, they state that people who critque your art must try to be as nice as they can when commenting. So, more than likely, if you post your art on the forums, you will get praised by at least someone. And if a lot of people think that your art is good or great, then you have struck the pot of luck dude/ette. Another thing I'd like to add about rules and guidelines. They're there for a reason! Follow and enforce them! It's amazing how 2/3 of the members here on Friendcodes don't actually follow the rules all the time. And, that's ok sometimes. But, what I'm trying to get at here is if you follow the rules and be a good role model in the forums, you might get praise and reputation! That's the base for peace in the world, rules. Making good, thoughtful and/or helpful threads helps too. Make a guide about something (i.e. Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart DS, etc.). Maybe you can make a thread that members find hysterical! Maybe you can make a thread that is a fun game that is addicting to other members (i.e. Say One Thing About the User Above). Or making a good thread in general, one that people think is awesome. One that might be stickied. Just hit your creative side and show your knowledge to the world. One more thing I'd like to add about being nice. Just do it. One act of niceness could change a whole legacy. Just try to be generally nice all around. If you think that someone is hurt or sad. Bring them up! Make friends with a lot of people on here. (especially FC Staff!) Trust me. You WILL get at least some praise and/or reputation.
THE DON'Ts of Karma: What You Should Not Do
Now here comes the bad side of the story (the DON'Ts). There are many things in life that you should not do. Things that people look down on. Things that people face palm at. You know; stupid, dangerous, pointless, facepalmish, and just plain mean things all contribute. Well, that's basically what earns you bad karma here. First thing I want to get at, being mean in general. Mostly all people don't like to be bullied and/or teased. Nobody likes to be insulted. That's one red flag. Don't do it here. Don't flame other members or offend them. Don't post things that people think are mean and/or cruel (i.e.'OMG, Rik is stupd. Lulz, everyone laugh at him'). Don't do it, period. That's like an invitation for bad reputation and ignoration. Secondly, spam. Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages (i.e. lulz, i m so kewl. kowenoptnpogihfghjeoi'). Don't do that here either. I , for one, don't like pointless and/or unthoughtful posts. It just wastes valuable pixels in a forum that could be used for a genius reply or thread that could help find a cure for cancer! (I'm exaggerating here. =P). If I may add another point, if you have nothing nice to say about a member or any other thing, don't say anything at all. Now, here's a BIG red flag here. Don't post anything on here that will seem anything in the following: gang related, racist, sexist, etc. Again, this is based on the rules. Follow them and you'll be alright. Any posts that are of the above deserve bad reputation. Now, there is also another side to bad karma. Members might give bad karma just because they think differently of what you posted. And this might not be your fault. But if this happens, just take it. Everyone has made some bad remarks before. Everyone has different thoughts and opinions. If someone doesn't agree with you and disapproves. Just take it! Life throws dirt at you. You just have to shake it off and take another step up. People will be jerks (and that deserves them some bad karma too.). Deal with it. Or in some case, some people just give bad karma for no reason. Just take it! You'll get over it. It's not the end of the world. =D. Also, don't make a post in your signature saying stuff like 'ZOMG YOU CLICKED HERE YOU NERD.' or 'Click here and your dumb, lulz' and all that. That just brings people down, almost like you're insulting people. Also, anything that is off-topic and/or in the wrong place is a little pointer for bad karma. Don't do it, ok?[/color]
Well, in a nutshell, that's basically how people earn reputation here on the forums. You may notice that someone isn't that nice and/or doesn't do anything that deserves karma. Yet, they earn karma anyway. Those people have luck on their side. They're suave =D. Don't worry about it. Basically, to earn good reputation, just be nice and have fun. Being mean and/or trolling other members earns bad karma Todd.
*note: I would also like to add something about lucky reputation "advantages". Some members ask for reputation, which would count as unfair as they didn't deserve it. Reputation trading, random giving, etc. Thanks >.< and Moonchild.

I learned it, and so should they...
*note: I'd also like to put something that Rik said in his karma thread. Karma doesn't affect what kind of person you are. Please don't read this thread and think that you feel mocked. Karma DOES NOT MEAN A THING in most cases. But if you really want to know how people earn their karma. Read this carefully.
Any other contributions for this thread may go to me. Just PM me on what how else you could think someone could earn good/bad reputation.
Rik inspired and approved the making of this thread.. And, also a big thanks to his thread: Karma: The bars and You.. This is totally based on this. Everyone may thank Rik in the process. =D
I hope this thread really helps for all members in need. =)

Why would you waste your time making something like this? U have 2 be damn near retarted 2 not know how 2 get good and bad karma. Be nice u get good karma be a punk u get bad karma its that easy.
~This shows all the karma basics by Rik. So this is not needed.
- Next to that, karma threads are not allowed on the forums anyway.
- I'm sorry, but as soon as a mod or Admin see's this, it will be closed..
-For future refference, dont post up karma threads k?;)
EDIT:
- Also, heres a tip:
See how i am posting this? I'm spacing almost every sentance.
- You dont need to do this but at least use pharagrahs. It makes it much easier to read other than mashing all of it in one or two HUGE pharagraphs =)
That may be true, but you're missing the BIG PICTURE moonchild. Pdlqboy is going in-depth on why members receive karma and how to act in order to receive it. Rik's guide was pretty good, but his thread only covered the basics:
-how to use it
-the features of the karma system
-how to give karma
-how to check the amount you have and the reasons why you obtained it
-etc
Pdlqboy made a REALLY big step by going in-depth on why members receive karma, and it's really helpful for members who want to make themselves known to the community or want to become a household name on the forums.
Lawl, I overused karma WAY too many times in my explanation. D:
