According to a user over at Chinese site
Hacken, who managed to get the DSi before its scheduled release date of November 1, the new handheld will not work with any current slot-1 flash cards. Various flash card brands were tested, from the popular R4 to CycloDS, with each repeatedly failing to work.
Nintendo has pressed legal action against the manufactures of these flash cards over the past couple years, so it isn't that surprising that they have done this. This is bad news for hackers as well as any legit homebrew. But on the upside, this means piracy won't be an issue for Nintendo for now. It's only a matter of time until someone cracks it.
