Have you ever heard of the Great Giana Sisters? Best...ripoff...ever. Well, I haven't played the original late 80's Atari or Amiga version, but a little emulator can take you a long way.
The great counterfeit was made in 1987 by one programmer Armin Gessert and published by Rainbow Arts. Not soon after, Nintendo made legal actions and Super Giana Sisters had been pulled from shelves, never to be seen again, until now.
Now Gessert is working with Spellbound, the software company that is officially remaking it under a Nintendo granted license. He releases the roughly translated statement about the game.
"In more than 80 levels, players experience all the great features of the original home computer version, as well as new features, that are kept exclusive for Nintendo
DS. Players will have the Nintendo
DS microphone as well as the touchpad, for instance."

The Original Great Giana Sisters

The new Nintendo
DS version version of Great Giana Sisters
Will this game compete in a one on one battle against the Nintendo
DS reincarnation of it's original idea, New Super Mario Brothers? I doubt it :/
