Apparently Nintendo is a patent-happy company, registering a staggering amount of 17 patents! Of these 17 patents, 11 are Pokemon related and four are patents for already released Pokemon games. While a Pokemon Gray game is not likely to appear, the
DS Directional Sensor Card seems to be a more viable release. Will this card make motion sensing possible on the
DS? Who knows? We’ve already seen Nintendo experiment with a tilt sensor on the
GBA with Wario Ware: Twisted!. Is this the next step? Anything is possible at this point.
Another couple of interesting patents are those for Pokemon. While most names probably won’t make the cut, Pokemon Crimson and Scarlet sound like good titles for upcoming Pokemon games.
