RUMOUR: New Metroid game teased on official site?

I will stress that this is a RUMOUR! Don't assume that anything written here will actually happen. It's been almost two years since Metroid Prime 3: Corruption released on the Wii. Last year, Nintendo announced that they plan on bringing the whole trilogy to the Wii through their new NEW PLAY CONTROL range. Just recently however, a new banner has appeared on the official Japanese Metroid website that reads "Another Side Story - Coming Soon".

As you can expect, rumours and speculation have begun to spread like wildfire. Could this be something big like a new Metroid Prime spin-off, or maybe something small like a simple website update. There is also the possibility that this could be for a new game mode or story that will be included in the new Metroid Prime remakes coming out for the Wii this year. Until Nintendo make an official announcement, nothing is for sure.

You guys decide for yourself.

Re: RUMOUR: New Metroid game teased on official site?

this comes from the site joystiq:We felt a brief jolt of excitement when we saw this graphic on the new Japanese Metroid series website. Right under the boxarts for the two New Play Control Metroid Prime remakes and Metroid Prime 3, this graphic teases "Another side story -- coming soon"! The Japanese text underneath says "Follow the history of Metroid Prime from the perspective of the Space Pirates", which would potentially be a pretty cool game.

hope that clears up any confusion. budge do alittle more research next time... google is an invalubale resource.

It's either a remake, or, more likely, a 2-D DS game. (A side thought: would Lucasfilm be a good choice to create a Metroid movie? Just wondering).
