It's official, Activision are selling out. In yet another attempt to milk the Guitar Hero franchise for everything it's worth, Activision will be releasing a total of atleast four Guitar Hero games by years end, with the already announced Guitar Hero Metallica being the first.
On the
DS side, Guitar Hero Modern Hits has been officially confirmed, which will be a direct sequel to Guitar Hero On Tour. The next game will be coming to the
Wii, PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360, and has been simply dubbed Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits. Greatest Hits will feature a track list compiled of the most popular songs from all past Guitar Hero games all revised for play on the guitar, bass, drum kit and microphone. Finally is the upcoming secret title in the franchise that is said by Activision to be a
"major re-stage" of the franchise that will feature
"all new differentiated Guitar Hero products". Basically, let's just call it the official Guitar Hero 5.
It's going to be a long year for Guitar Hero alright. Metallica is due out in a few months and Greatest Hits and Modern Hits will most likely bridge the gap until this new title in the series comes out.
