Sega Makes Good Games, Nobody Cares - 06-30-09

Remember MadWorld? Ultra-bloody hack n' slash gorefest with Sin City's graphic style and Sam Raimi's one-liner wit? Well, it released to praise from the press over its bold mission to bring a new age of mature gaming to Nintendo's little white box. It even rated an average score of 81/100 on...

And i thought sega doesn't make games anymore?
Publishers actually come up with (or buy) the idea for the game itself, and then hire developers to build it for them. In that sense, Sega did make both games.

For madworld, Tokuro Fujiwara of platinum games made the original design, then went to sega for a publisher. As for House of the dead overkill i am not sure... I could not find any info to support both sides, but in a way the actual director of the game is really the game maker.

Sega mentioned that if HOTD: Overkill sold a good enough number of copies, they might consider bringing House of the Dead 4 to the Wii.

I'm pretty sure ANY HARCORE Wii owner would love this game to be brought over. The original arcade cabinet had motion-sensing on its light gun peripheral that made the game better in certain situations. It would be a solid fit for the Wii if it's brought over.
that remind me of something but i forgot what it was

It's actually fairly rare that the game director comes up with the idea for the game itself. The only example I can think of would be Hideo Kojima, and he's insane anyway.
