While many know and love the Rune Factory series, I'll give a quick summary for those unaware: Rune Factory is basically a
Harvest Moon game with a fantasy twist. You tend to your farm animals and crops as usual, but in your spare time bloody up monsters in an assortment of dungeons and train your HP/MP.
Marvelous Entertainment has just announced a few details about the upcoming Rune Factory 3. Available on the Nintendo
DS, like its predecessors, it will be released sometime in 2009 in Japan. No info regarding a North American release has been released (sadface:[), but we can hope, right?
The big new feature of this game is a magical belt (maaaaagical belt!) that lets you turn into the various monsters that you've defeated in the dungeons. Not only does this unlock new battle moves, but it can change the way people respond to you. (HOLYCRAPTHESHEEPISTALKINGRUNAWAY)
Also, the majority of this game takes place inside a giant tree. (Possibly maaaaagical, but we aren't sure yet.)
