Miyamoto Loves Cats, also says Wii Zelda will use MotionPlus for Swordplay, Aiming

Yes, it's true; Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of video games such as Mario, Zelda and Metroid, loves cats. Who doesn't, though? Aren't they so adorable?
Quote:
Closing off, Miyamoto said, "Also, I've recently been caring for cats. That is all."

Iwata added, "He just gave a big hint."
Does this mean we'll see a Nintencats in the future? It's not impossible.

Miyamoto also stated that, for the next Zelda, Wii MotionPlus will be used for enhanced swordplay and aiming, at least compared to Twilight Princess, promising a much more involved combat experience

Quote:
“In this (installment of the series), we’re using MotionPlus to make you feel much more like you’re actually fighting while holding a sword in your hand,” the Zelda creator said at a recent Q&A session in Tokyo.

MotionPlus will also be used to target things on screen in place of the Wii’s infrared sensor, he said. “In the previous game, you aimed at things by pointing at the screen, but this time we’ll use MotionPlus to create a much more convenient targeting system and a more pleasurable playing experience.”

Well, most Shigsy games are based off his life experiences. So cats could really be the center of a game... Plus, they're awesome.

I really hope swordplay is satisfying in this game, waggling the controller really wasn't all that fun in TP >_> Hopefully they'll be as, and more, precise as when you hold a bat in Wii sports.

Yes! Sword fighting implementation in the new Zelda! Here's to a 1:1 type thing. I'd be VERY happy with some actual skill needing to be had to play it right! It'd also be nice to have control schemes to not hurt the disabled or otherwise.
