Mario and Sonic to star in a game together?

Its true apparently Mario and sonic are going to be together in a wii game called Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. The game will not only feature Mario and Sonic as playable characters you will also be able to use other famous Mario and Sonic characters like Luigi, Yoshi, Tails and Knuckles.
According to the article its going to be out by next christmas.

"Mario and Sonic have been respectful rivals since the early days of video games,"
"In fact, for a long time they have been discussing the possibility of one day competing against each other. Now that they have been given the perfect opportunity to meet at the Olympic Games, we may finally learn who is actually faster, Mario or Sonic?"

I can imagine how interesting this game could be if they worked on it hard enough on it. You could actually make running motions by using the wii-mote and Nunchuk and see who could get to the finish line first, or put the controller by your waist and jump over incoming obstacles like in Wario ware smooth moves.
This game is to be for both the DS and the Wii.

keep in mind april fools is coming up and this could easily be an april fools joke ;)

Oh really? I didn't see it. I checked the news and notes section to see if another news staff member already posted it but didn't notice it.
and apparently this was only added to google news 40 minutes ago.
I added that it could be an april fools trick because I find it very possible. But if Mario and sonic are in a game together maybe sonic does have a chance in SSBB.

Huh, I saw this on another news site. I hope it turns out to be true! I would probably try it at another persons house or rent it before I would buy it though.

Well dont you think the name sounds a little.. Corny?

Sonic And Mario at the Olympic games!

Dont you think they'd come up with a more, less literal name, Such as Mario Party, They dont call it "Mario Mini Games With Star Collecting!"

EDIT: I just noticed something... on the box the word "Mario" is written exactly like in Mario kart double dash but in all red. That means maybe it is a fake. We`ll find out after april fools I guess.

Haha, isn't it obvious? I have a feeling the game may not be that good. They better include Wario :D
It may be good if they are giving it Wi-fi capabilities and more interesting competitions. It says there will be "Table tennis, Swimming, and Races." This doesn't sound that intriguing to me. Although I may rent it ;)

Also this may increase the possibility of Sonic being in Brawl :D

Also I have seen this on AOTS last night on "The Feed" so I think it may be true.

The renders of Sonic and Mario look very real. There are no other pictures of Sonic or Mario in those poses on the internet, so these are brand new renders of them. They look quite official. Usually an April Fools joke will use older pictures of a character, or a really badly made render of a character.

Still, I guess I'll wait until afte April fools before I get my hopes up for this game.
