Nintendo Banning AR Pokemon? - 06-09-07

If this rumor is true, than Nintendo is taking their Pokemon very seriously. Word has it that anyone using a specific set of Action Replay codes with Pokemon Diamond/Pearl will be banned from online play. The codes in question are…

Re: Nintendo Banning AR Pokemon?

i think its good...all i know is that nintendo must be surfing the Global Trade Center in the game cause a friend of mine put up a hacked darkrai (obliviously) and when he went back ther next day it was gone..also there was no pokemon recieved..and now he cant go on the GTS it gives a message saying "Contact nintedo" wonder if that is one of their early banning cases??

They should also have upgrade features in their games to fix glitches/exploits that are harmful to the other players on Wifi.
sorry to tell I'm friends with Po,virus, and other hackers then can't make hacks that screw with you game AR doesn't have that power however it should be that hard for nintendo to catch them, they should send out some virus thing and if your using AR at all online it should freeze your game, then ban it from wifi FOREVER it should ban your ds' cereal number =p.

Re: Nintendo Banning AR Pokemon?

I some-what agree, I'm not exactly the best suited person to be mocking this topic. I understand uber stat Pokemon, but not Shiny's... Shinys add no special value to the Pokemon. If Nintendo would to follow through with this it would effect hundreds of websites. This would be too big of a feat that Nintendo would probably eventually slow down and call it quits.
To me this is just a threat to scare hackers, A month later they'll release another game and move on to making that threat.

What I want to know is why Nintendo hasn't had any conflicts with Datel yet...

lolrandom. CosGrove needs a news person award. He posts stories all the time. Leik good job?

Re: Nintendo Banning AR Pokemon?

I don't think that they should do this.
There might be problems in the code, and end up messing up something.
I'm sure it'll happen.

That's just me though.

Re: Nintendo Banning AR Pokemon?

This is a good think in my opinion, I have an action repley like the one in the picture (but i have lost it), and from the day i got Pokemon i said to myself that i wouldn't use it on Pokemon pearl.

So, i'm with Nintendo on this one. =D

Re: Nintendo Banning AR Pokemon?

i think its sorta alright because i like using the AR to get rare pokemon but i dont make all 999 or anything just use the ar to get rare pokemon master balls and rare candy.

If you have a corrupted file and you're using an AR or Gameshark, it may not seem so because the only thing that is keeping your game saves from showing are the hacks that you put into it with your cheating device.

Otherwise, Good work Nintendo, I really didn't want to play an online game along with people who have pokemon with 999 stats and such. Good work Nintendo keep it up.
Not a chance

the way the games work is:

DS1: Hey man!
DS2: hey!
DS1: Wanna play?
DS2: sure!
DS1: lets play (map which isnt supported online)
DS2: ok! (not realizing what it's doing as it isn't coded to!)
Lets play!

DS1 doesn't affect the memory or cartridge of DS2 at all

If you can offer proof that this has happened I will gladly admit your right, but until then I seriously doubt it.

Also, of course its a good idea to ban hackers - but I'm not sure how feasible it is, whats the source for this?

Pokemon hacking spoils the game for everyone, just like ACWW hacking did.
