Nintendo Banning AR Pokemon? - 06-09-07

If this rumor is true, than Nintendo is taking their Pokemon very seriously. Word has it that anyone using a specific set of Action Replay codes with Pokemon Diamond/Pearl will be banned from online play. The codes in question are…

Hmm i belive that they shouldnt be banned from oline play, but the codes used should be disabled during online play, if possible. I mean if they can detect if someone has altered the game, then they should be able to disable the codes pattern. Although chating in games like these are very dis honest and ruin the fun for everyone.

I don't actually own Pokemon but I think that banning AR would be a very smart move indeed. It ruined ACWW with an over-abundance of bells and could very well do the same to Pokemon with shinies and raised stat Pokemon.

it's not fair because it's sold to the public as part of an acessories for the ds and nintendo should not dictate what a owner of a ds should do with their system at home and should they do or not with their system. In that case nintendo should ban all AR usage for all games and see how the sales will drop a bit!:cool:

as for the outragious pokemon stats and levels developed because of action replay I say ban the pokemon from wifi not the trainers and as for the 493 pokemon and shiney thing I say if they purchased the action replay the people should be able to do whatever they want with it just not on wifi. The problem with banning certain pokemon from wifi is the countless trainers who require pokemon on GTS and think the pokemon were trained by the previous trainer.

While cheating in NSMB for example is extremely lame, it doesn't affect anyone but the cheater. Cheating in Pokemon is completely different as:

People over wifi want to play a fair game and don't know the other user is cheating

Also, Nintendo don't produce the AR - Datel do.

I'm sure if they banned AR completely only the sales of the AR would drop, as it is a small percentage of DS users spoiling it for the rest.

Anyway, as I've said before - this rumour will not come to fruition, impossible to police. They should have thought about this in advance.

i think u mean SERIAL not CEREAL. and that whole thing about the "someone hacked and traded/battled me and now my game is screwed up" is true; it happened to me and i now have permanent cheats

nintendo tends not to directly conflict with any hacker company. they stopped after game genie for NES cause they lost that law suit.

so they just dont bother.

I don't play this game, but I would be ••••ed too if I had to go against some hacker beefing up their pokemon powers via a hack...
