Nintendo Banning AR Pokemon?

If this rumor is true, than Nintendo is taking their Pokemon very seriously. Word has it that anyone using a specific set of Action Replay codes with Pokemon Diamond/Pearl will be banned from online play. The codes in question are…

National-Dex (After talking with Game Director)
Catching All 493 Pokemon
All Shiny’

I don’t doubt that Nintendo would do something like this. The only question is, do you believe they should be?

Hey, in my opinion, it wouldn't be a problem at all! On the contrary, it's be GREAT! Nintendo needs to be super-strict with their online games, like RunseScape is. (Lol, RuneScape.)

If this is true, Then why not do the same thing for other WiFi games? What makes Pokemon so special?

@ Shade: Hacked Pokemon are solid, physical (metaphorically speaking) things that stick around long after they've been hacked. It's hard to catch everyone in the act of hacking MPH, but it's easy to spot out and ban someone who's team is full of Lvl 100 shiny Deoxys.

I agree completely. Nintendo really needs to take steps to ban the unfair players out there. Hackers have actually made me scared of playing my MKDS and my MPH for the reason that my file/cartridge might get corrupted. I put hard hours into beating those games and I'm afraid of losing my game in just the 7 minutes it takes to play a match. They should also have upgrade features in their games to fix glitches/exploits that are harmful to the other players on Wifi.

Re: Nintendo Banning AR Pokemon?

Finally! I hated battling people online who had pretty ok pokemon until their last pokemon who had 999 in each stat!!! I'm welcoming this with open arms!

I highly doubt that other hackers could corrupt your game, don't worry about it man. ;D

Your doubt is false, It's a highly possible thing Crawf, Its happened to several people. Simple hacks such as using "constant speed boost" in MKDS or having infinite health in MPH can accually distort your memory since theirs is already distorted. The Nintendo DS is obviously capable of Online play only through downloading content that others put out during games. If you have a corrupted file and you're using an AR or Gameshark, it may not seem so because the only thing that is keeping your game saves from showing are the hacks that you put into it with your cheating device.

Otherwise, Good work Nintendo, I really didn't want to play an online game along with people who have pokemon with 999 stats and such. Good work Nintendo keep it up.
