Two New Zelda Characters Confirmed For Super Smash Bros Brawl
Eiji Aonuma, the man behind Link's latest adventures in The Legend of Zelda, confirmed the appearances of two more characters from the revered franchise – Sheik and Ganondorf – in Nintendo's upcoming all-star game, Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
"I’ve been working with Sakurai for a very long time with this new Smash Bros., because the Wii came out and when discussion for a new Smash Bros. took place nobody could think of anyone other than Sakurai working on it," Aonuma told GameInformer.
"He was kind of the default, and I was very happy to hear that he would be working on it. Actually, my designers did work on the designs for Sheik and Link and Ganondorf," Aonuma said, essentially confirming the appearances of Link's co-stars in Brawl.
"So they submitted the initial designs, and so it would fit in the Smash Bros. Brawl environment, they’ve had to tweak some of the designs. But Sakurai has brought those altered designs to NCL. We’re working very closely with the team of Smash Bros. Brawl to make sure the characters look their best."
This pair joins both Link and Zelda, who've previously been confirmed for Brawl. It is currently unknown how Sheik will appear, as the design for Zelda that is used in Brawl is based on her appearance in Twilight Princess, in which Sheik was not included.
It might be possible that Sheik will enter battle in the same way as Zero Suit Samus, although there is also the possibility that the Sheik will be in the game as an Assist Trophy, or even as an entirely separate character. Only time and the Smash Bros. website will tell.

NinBoy's Thoughts: That's awesome! Two new zelda characters in one week! So now we have a total of Zelda, Link, Sheik and Ganondorf.
I'm thinking Sheik will appear as an assist trophy although we all wish she did not. She didn't appear in the latest Link adventure or didn't even play a role in the game. But maybe they'll give here one last chance. Who knows, she might be in the next Zelda game.
We have also added another character previously this week, Ike.
Seems to me like they're trying to finish up all the news on the game...I'm not too sure though. Anyway, who's talented enough to use these characters?
