Many Australian gamers have been outraged with the delays for
Wii games because we have to wait for the games to be translated into the European languages which we don't even use. More anger had sparked just as Nintendo replied to the issue with a simple "No Comment", but Nintendo Australia have just come out and not only apologized, but insisted that effort is going into fixing this issue.
Nintendo Australia's PR Co-ordinator, Heather Murphy, said, "We apologise for the inconvenience that Nintendo fans are experiencing compared with people outside of their region.
"Localization and PAL conversion processes often make these delays unavoidable. Although in some instances PAL versions have made it to the markets faster than the versions of other regions - for example Mario Strikers Charged Football and Battalion Wars. We are currently making efforts to minimize the time needed for localizations, as we understand that the difference in worldwide release dates is frustrating to fans."
Notice how she mentions only 2 games and one was still a month later than Europe. I might also add that Mario Smash Football (Super Mario Strikers) for the Gamecube was delayed by almost a year from Europe to Australia, I know this because I was waiting for the game to release and I noticed on the official site that the release date kept getting pushed to later and later. So are Nintendo planning on fixing this, if so will it be a substantial difference or only a couple days to a week difference?
What Nintendo need to do is buckle down and make this happen, could Super Smash Bros Brawl be making an Australian debut this Christmas? probably not, but it'd be a huge step in the right direction. Time will tell and show if Nintendo are taking this seriously, atleast now they know that we are mad at them.
