If you've been reading a lot of news on Manhunt 2 then you'll know all about it's controversy.
First it gets an AO rating from the ESRB, meaning that it won't come out on any console since no company lets AO games on it's console.
Then it's ban gets appealed after Rockstar revises it to an M Rating.
It's all happy now here in North America, but for those of you in the PAL region it's not looking to good.
The BBFC has still banned Manhunt 2 - even with its new M rating from the ESRB.
Many people had thought it was banned because of the
Wii's motion sensing controller, but the BBFC has said that the Wiimote does not affect there decision.
"Under certain circumstances and in certain contexts it is possible that motion-sensing devices might have an effect on category decisions"
Said Gianno Zamo, senior examiner.
He went on to say:
"It is not a prime consideration for at the moment and has not affected any Wii games we have passed so far."
"We certainly didn't single out the Wii version of Manhunt 2 from the PS2 version on the basis that users could stimulate the delivery of a blow more realistically than the hand-controller of the PS2. Indeed, motion-sensing devices are nothing new. Prior to the release of the Wii nobody had ever expressed concern that one could buy peripherals such as pistols or flight/driving controls to add to the game experience."
It is a dark day for Manhunt fans in the PAL Region, but don't fret, you could always import it from The Netherlands, where it comes out AO.
