Nintendo has just released news that six of their first party
Wii games have sold over 1 million units worldwide. Below are the games in order, and I must admit there were a few surprises.
Wii Sports
11.1 million
Wii Play:
6.3 million
Mario Party 8:
2.9 million
Big Brain Academy:
1.8 million
Mario Strikers Charged Football:
1.3 million
As you can probably tell, there are only 5 games shown. Despite the fact we heard very early this year that Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess had thrashed the million unit mark, it didn't get shown on the list.
The next question worth bringing up is if Nintendo plan on making a budget range (like Player's Choice for the GameCube) for their
Wii million sellers. Since most of the above games have been out for less than a year it doesn't seem likely Nintendo will be jumping into that wagon right away. Next year though we may hear an announcement from Nintendo.
