Ness has left the Brawl, Lucas steps in. -

The Smash Dojo confirmed a few months ago that Ness' fellow Earthbounder, Lucas will be joining the Brawl next year. Ever since his confirmation, it has been pondered as to whether or not Ness would be returning also or if Lucas would be taking his place. However, today's Smash Update has confirmed...

aww... ness was one of my favs! He was my 3rd best character(closely behind mario and Roy) ah well... maybe lucas is good enough:) |

I hate to say "I told you so" but I did. I do remember in this one post... a long, long time ago... Well, as I was saying, I did mention that Ness was out because he had been replaced by Lucas and according to Nintendo having that no clones whatchumacallit, I can safely say that I was right. And he deserves to be out because he was a weak character. Now speaking of weak characters, Jigglypuff is NOT one of those. If you can time that down b attack just right like this guy from the school band that I know, you could kick some major butt with her. It was 2 other guys and I against that dude with Jigglypuff and I can honestly say that I never felt so ashamed in my life. |

whoa, whoa, whoa, technically once the word got around that the only reason Lucas didn't make it to melee was that the game was delayed, a bunch of people started thinking this even before lucas was released for brawl officially. Taking such a statement as solely your own would be very... ignorant to others.
and beyond that, how could Ness be the weaker character when they have the same general moves? the only thing really weak about Ness is the Yo-yo's, and that is easily learned (to not use).
True the PK Flash was hard to use, but so will PK Freeze. the only difference is that Freeze ... freezes people.
Lucas is just the newer model of an older character, and that's makes me personally feel like the person in charge of this is making some sort of mistake... but oh well, right?
on jigglypuff, it is one of the "high" characters of melee, and yes, it is devastating depending on who uses it, but so is Ness really. fighting a person who doesn't know a thing about jigglypuff will be no problem, while a masterful user of a character will obviously know how to use them.
just don't mark Ness off so soon... there's still two months left. (more, but wtv) |

i agree i think ness will make it back n he was n the other 2 why get cut now. i think they will b a mario and luigi type characters |

Wow, I'm sorry everyone who thinks Ness is gone is stupid! The, " up until now" part can me he is gone or is it could mean that he is not alone, as in Lucas is now another playable character from the Earthbound Series. Another thing, did the smash site say," Ness will no longer be in smash!" No! All those who think a characters should be removed from the game like the following: Ice Climbers, Ness, Jigglypuff, and Mr. Game and Watch are so stupid and are not to Smash Fans. Those who think a character should be removed either can not play as them, or is just more interested in a non Nintendo character like Gay Master Chief! Why would they take out an original Smash character too! Watch you'll see Ness is not going anywhere, no need to worry about that! The only one that may go somewhere is Pichu  because Pikachu has Volt Tackle! WTF!Pichu is the one who gets Volt Tackle as an egg. Pichu you better not be going anywhere, yet if you question Pichu's appearance I will not stop you there... sadly. But seriously think about it everyone look at Ike and Kirby, what is their Up Special Move? Looks quiet similar doesn't it? Indeed. They are pretty much the same thing! I don't think certain clones are going anywhere... However, if Gannondarf is in Smash, which I believe he will, he should get some type of sword; depending on what series he's from which is most likely the Twilight Princess series. If a character is missing from melee I will be slightly disappointed with Sora Ltd. Will I still play if some are missing? You better believe it! :D

I defiantly think this too. I mean look at Mario and Luigi's Fireball? Similar to Ness and Lucas' PK Fire. Which is why I stand by my belief that original characters are not going anywhere, and that clones for that matter are not going anywhere. Besides, clones own, the clones are never exactly the same! EX: Fox is actually very different from Falco. |

M'kay a few things.
1. Having a move that is the same as someone elses does not mean they are clones. If Ike could swallow his enemies and wielded a huge hammer than maybe I'd agree with you.
2. We don't think he SHOULD be removed, but the revelation of Lucas' move set and Nintendo's vow to eliminate cloned characters suggests that Ness will probably be cut.
3. Pichu will not be in Brawl, he was probably the worst clone in Melee.
4. Nintendo have already "CONFIRMED" not everyone from Melee will be returning, this could also include the characters from the N64 version.
5. Mr Game and Watch might get removed because he was more of a bonus fun character for Melee.
6. Stop Flaming. Everyone has a right to opinion but you shouldn't put people down because they believe someone should be cut. |

Anyone who played EarthBound knows Ness couldn't do most the stuff he does in Melee. Also "Up until now" doesn't mean anything anymore because that was yesterday (and we all know how good Nintendo is at twisting the truth). Finally his moveset could change to his original Psi powers. Well thats all this Mother fan has to say. |
