Hello, and welcome to the first edition of VC Weekly. As my user name indicates I am Budge007 and I will be bringing you this weeks updates for the beloved Shop Channel. Let us begin with the games for the US.
NTSC
Axelay
This SNES classic created by Konami sits players in a prototype ship full of advanced weaponry. The game played similar to that of Gradius III, except it was made famous by it's spectacular use of Mode 7 graphics. The game was quite popular on the SNES. 800 Wii Points
Volleyball
Yes back in the day we were even able to play Volleyball on our Nintendo. You select 1 of 8 teams and duke it out on the sand. 500 Wii Points
Blue's Journey
The Neo Geo classic Blue's Journey makes it's way to the Virtual Console this week. You take the control of Blue, who sets out on his journey to save his planet from being enslaved. Simple indeed. 900 Wii Points
PAL
Don't go anywhere just yet, what did the PAL regions get? Well sit down and listen.
Double Dribble
This week, the only game the PAL regioners got is Double Dribble. This is a basketball game for the NES that was created by Konami that presented the game of basketball very well for it's time. 500 Wii Points
WiiWare
Oh how do you like that? A New Wii Channel came out this week as well. This launched worldwide so anyone can download it now.
Check Mii Out/Mii Contest Channel
Yes, the latest Wii Channel made it's debute this week in the WiiWare section of the Wii Shop Channel. The Mii Contest Channel allows you to create your own Mii's and post them so other users can look at them and vote on them. Nintendo also hold competitions on the channel where you are required to create a Mii fitting the description (this weeks was "Mario without his cap"). As with the Everybody Votes Channel, this comes at a low low price of 0 Wii Points, so if you haven't already boot up your Wii and download it now.
Forget the awesomeness of the banner and all the other awesome things...
ladies and gentlement, if you will be so kind... direct your attention over to Double dribble. THAT GAME IS PWN.
It's so pwn that if you were to go in a dictionary and look up "Double Dribble" you'd see "Double Dribble: see 'Pwn', page 104".
