Yesterday, two new
Wii Updates for US
Wii consoles were available. However, I didn't post about this because they were not yet available in Europe and I felt that I should know more about them first. My blue light was illuminating this morning though, and I had to alert you Friendcodians! The updates available are for the '
Wii Shop Channel' and the 'Photo Channel.'
The
Wii Shop Channel has been updated to allow
Wii owners to buy gifts for their friends. This nifty little feature saves you a heck of a lot on wrapping paper, I must say. Simply open up the
Wii Shop Channel, find the item you would like to purchase, and instead of clicking "Download", click "Gift" and you can then select a person from your
Wii Address Book. You can also now view the Virtual Console updates in the main menu, similar to the Forecast and News channels. To update your
Wii Shop Channel, go into the
Wii settings and perform a system update.
The Photo Channel has finally been updated after a year of doodling and slide shows. Photo Channel v1.1 is now available for download on the
Wii Shop Channel, and allows users to select their favourite photo to appear on the main menu where the channel logo normally appears. It also only allows the playback of .ACC audio files, and cancels out the use of .MP3 playback. Nintendo stated that they made this change to increase the quality of music, but they reccommend that if you don't want to make this change they you need not bother updating to v1.1.
This is Tjharwin wishing you all a Merry Christmas here at Friendcodes. Oh...and stay classy. ;)
