The first information has risen regarding the new Sonic RPG for the Nintendo
DS developed by Bioware.
"The game will have a water colour look and all graphics in the game are hand drawn. Gamers will be able to have four party members with them at a time, with a total of eleven party members planned for inclusion in the game. Seven party members are currently known: Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Rouge, Shadow and Big The Cat. Each party member will have unique abilities; Tails, for example, will be able to float over things."
When it comes to controls, the game is entirely dependent on the
DS Stylus. Battles will be turn based and will not be random, as enemies are visible on the play field. Also as usual, Rings will be used as the currency for the game.
The story tells that it has been two years since Sonic defeated Eggman and Sonic gets a call from Tails telling him that Knuckles has been kidnapped by a group called the Marauders. Six of the seven Chaos Emeralds are also missing missing. Dr. Eggman is not the main villian in this game, however he does make an appearance in some way. According to the article, there will be a twist in the game involving Eggman and Sonic, which will refer to previous Sonic games.
The game will also feature some familiar Sonic areas and as the story progresses you will move to darker worlds. There will also be animated cutscenes and completely remixed Sonic tunes.
Sonic's latest outing could prove to reinvent the series for the better. But we can't quite tell yet. I will give you more information when it becomes available.
