Please read this BEFORE you comment. The game itself is FINISHED. There is NO WAY that Nintendo could be adding new content to the game or fixing up any more bugs because the game is READY for distribution in Japan. Botton line: Nintendo won't be adding anything new to this game during the extra delay period, its purely for localization and translating the games for the other regions.
We have all been pondering as to whether or not Brawl will once again be delayed. Although many retailers have been claiming that the title has been delayed, many of us were only willing to believe official word from Nintendo. But today, it has become clear that the delay is existent, as the Smash Dojo has changed it's release date for Super Smash Bros. Brawl to March 9th 2008. Here is a notice from the site:
"Due to delays in the completion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we’ve had to change the release date of the game to Sunday, March 9th.
I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long and ask that you hold on just a little longer. Thank you for your patience."
Japan are also being hit by this, but by no where near as harshly as the US. The original Japanese release date of 24th of January has been knocked back until the 31st of January.
I am losing great confidence that Nintendo will get this game across to the PAL regions before the later end of 2008. This is utterly pathetic Nintendo, pull your game together, you are outraging many of your fans.
