Thats not always true, the night of the Halo3 release Gamestop employees/managers were present and didn't receive the game until 2 hours before sales started.

Me: Er. Are you selling Super Smash Brothers Brawl?

Guy: We are out of stock.

Me: Okay, Are you selling it?

Guy: We are out of stock.

Me: -Hangs up-
